The Science of Phonaesthetics

This is primarily my podfic space, where you will find links to ones that I've recorded, recs for ones I find particularly well done or special, and information on WIPs that I'm currently tackling. Oh, and general fannish flailings abound.

AO3 / Amplificathon / what's podfic?

A request: If you know me (or even think you know me) IRL/outside of fandom, I would greatly appreciate it if you sent me a private message letting me know so that we can chat. I'm mostly fine with people knowing about my fannish self IRL, but still appreciate the gesture all the same!

Jinjurly just posted some great news on the Amplificathon page (the Audiofic Archive is officially malware-free and back up and running, yay!) but, she needs some help smoothing out some last technical glitches.

If you know anything about mysql/database stuff and want to volunteer, click on the link and/or email her at jinjurly@gmail.com.

Woot!

Here it is, guys! First, a little bit of housekeeping:

  • Please do reblog this link! Sharing is caring.
  • If you do share/reblog, please make sure it can be linked back to this original post. Feel free to delete all this when you reblog, just make sure the link can be easily traced back to my Tumblr.
  • You can find me, this podfic, and others as I complete them on Dreamwidth, my AO3, and eventually, on Jinjurly’s Audiofic Archive (updates on that one to come).
  • This podfic is in audiobook format, so it has multiple tracks/chapters.
  • Album art by blanketforyourshock
  • Foreword by the author, Ivy Blossom
  • Approximately 7.7 hours in length
  • If you’re curious about the music I used throughout the podfic, you can find a complete rundown here.
  • Original text of the story here

Woohoo! Enjoy :)

It’s time for the fifth annual Amplificathon 2012, a points-based podfic-creating challenge starting March 15th and ending April 30th. Head over to the Dreamwidth Amplificathon FAQ post for more info on how to participate, vote, and listen :)

I’ll be posting my The Progress of Sherlock Holmes podfic (download links here on Tumblr tomorrow, and on the Dreamwidth Amplificathon community page on the 15th when the challenge starts.) My Dreamwidth username is cellardoorpodfic.

Woot, can’t wait!

PS: It looks like Jinjurly’s Audiofic Archive is back up and running after the malware scare, so TPOSH may be up there to download shortly, too!

Yes. It fits.
They always have done.

This is so lovely. Also, Fayjay’s reading of Wordstrings’ Paradox Suite is still one of the absolute best podfics out there, in my opinion. She’s a super expressive reader, and although some of the files sound a little fuzzy (especially when she gets loud) the production is overall really good. She reads in other fandoms, too!

PS: remember that Jinjurly’s audiofic archive is still hacked at the moment, so to be safe, don’t DL anything from audiofic.jinjurly.com just yet, and check Amplificathon for updates.

Hopefully it gets sorted! In the mean time, check Amplificathon for updates and don’t DL anything just to be safe.
