Okay, so I know everyone’s been excited about this for months, but it just struck me, now at the theater, how freaking proud I am of Benedict. I know it’s not really my place to have any proprietary feelings towards him/his career one way or another, but damn, it just makes me so happy for him to see him up on that poster :)

Nightmare in Silver kinda sucked (sorry, Neil.) The sad thing is, of course, that I didn’t expect anything better since my expectations for this season of Who are so damned low in the first place, but still…*sigh*

The only plus side was that Warwick Davis is kind of a hottie when he’s not hidden under Professor Flitwick’s ridiculous facial hair and prosthetics in Harry Potter.

Oh, well. Here’s hoping the season finale isn’t a complete disaster!

It pulls him, drawing him out like a poison from sleep’s grasp, disperses him into the air. The elegant dust of him swirls, rising towards consciousness, both eager and hesitant. The dark peace of sleep still envelops him, wrapping his limbs in a soft laze, as spots of light flicker under his eyelids. They slowly coalesce into the gentle glow of 3:54 pm on a Wednesday, and John is there.

John, his anchor and constant surprise, the sameness of sanity and chaos of thrilling life. His doctor and companion and partner and backup, his inspiration and compass. Only in John does trust take on a sapphire blue hue, backlit by something undefined and brilliantly dangerous.

And only here does he feel safe, here in slanted sunlight and soft cotton sheets, the faint smell of sex and chemical bonds hanging in the air. Here he is able to leave his mind, to walk outside himself. A ghost explorer, a peaceful emissary to quiet inactivity, he brings himself outside only to look back in. To see his own thoughts in the reflection of John. To look at the bends in light and know they were shaped in love by those rough hands as they grasped curls or sketched in reverent hieroglyphics upon collarbones. Here his thoughts are beautiful and worthy.

He looks upon himself and sees the protective arch of John’s shoulders, back bent lusty and straining. He sees the strength of thigh and sacrum’s pivot, the sheen of eager sweat, looks to his own face and finds the breath-stealing sight of complete surrender. Eyelids pulling closed, mouth the shape of supplication. Fingertips digging into tanned skin, splayed and begging. Ribs dancing as chests heave, breaths becoming a single storm that circles in whispered names and growled demands. His mind is blissfully blank as his body is pulled under.

Well, no matter how much I’d like it to be, today is not one of those days. It is a day instead full of manuscript-reading and house-cleaning and very-busy-next-week-planning, so I’m setting up a (rather random) queue and heading off. On the bright side, going on a double date to see Star Trek Into Darkness tonight!

Completely random musings on the odd things I’ve consumed today due to recovering (please, Lords of Kobol, let it be recovering) from being sick for two weeks straight…

breakast: woke up famished, had coffee, juice, LaraBar

10am: made tea

11am: famished again, dragged self to kitchen to make a mango, banana, lime, Greek yogurt, and orange juice smoothie (I swear I was sweating by the time it was done I’m so weak rn but mmmmmm, definitely worth it). Also ate some goldfish. Okay, a lot of goldfish.

12:30pm: the Boy doesn’t really grocery shop while I’m away, he just kind of wanders into the store, buys three or four disconnected things that look good at the moment, returns home, and then wonders why there’s nothing to cook. SO, we don’t really have anything at home worth cooking with a capital “C”. Made a quesadilla w/salsa (we had cheese! amazing!) and consumed about a zillion mini extra-crunchy pickles (think I’m craving salt like crazy)

3:30pm: still hungry…had apple, graham crackers, and Nutella.

4:00pm: made more tea. May have eaten more goldfish.

4:15pm:…still hungry. This is becoming an issue. Normally, I eat three small-ish meals a day, plus maybe a snack or more coffee or tea thrown in between. Today, I feel like I could munch on something, anything, pretty much constantly and that wouldn’t even scratch the surface of how hungry I am. At least maybe it means my body’s heading out of sick mode now, though? Already wondering about dinner…should probably eat something with protein in it (whoops).

…and am now wrapped up in blankets on my bed, cat under one arm and tea on the bedside table, catching up on my dash and working myself up to the concentration levels needed to read through a new manuscript for work.

Yes, California was (mostly) awesome. Yes, I’m still sick and coughing like a 19th-century consumption patient, which is not so awesome. But all in all, it’s good to be home ~~and back to fast internet holy balls I’m so happy~~ :)
